In 1946, when
Donald Clark returned from overseas during World War 2, he was helping
his father pick tomato's, one of the two things he disliked about
farming.
One, was picking tomato's. The late blight hit the crop that year, and
all local farmers had to call on aerial crop dusters from New Jersey to
save the existing crop. As he watched the tomato's being dusted, he said
"I can do that!" Being a student of agriculture and a WW2 pilot, he put
the two together and started an airplane crop dusting and spraying
business that covered the Eastern Shore of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.
After tomato's started to leave the shore the business evolved to a farm
supply and seed business, growing hybrid seed corn, certified grains and
soybeans. Now that his sons have taken the business over, and due to the
ever changing business environment, in addition to still catering to the
farmers, for their needs, the home owner and the weekend farmer, we now
have a business that can cater to their needs with the product and
knowledge which they deserve. Next year, in 2011 we will be celebrating
our 65th Anniversary of continued service to the Agriculture Industry. |
